Strawberry Picker

Saltonstall Farm LLC Saltonstall Farm LLC Stratham, NH Stratham, NH Part-time Full-time Part-time Full-time $10 - $28 an hour $10 - $28 an hour
Responsibilities:
- Pick strawberries and sort them as directed - Show up on time, ready to work
Qualifications:
- Ability to work outside exposed to sun, rain, heat, cold, or whatever else the weather decides to throw at us - Ability to determine a rotten berry from a good berry - Ability to reach the ground.
Strawberries grow on the ground.
Some pickers work on their knees, some bend over, some bring a small stool or bucket to sit on.
Regardless, pickers need to be able to reach the ground.
The pay is a combination of hourly and piece-rate.
Essentially, we pay minimum wage just to sit around and do nothing (although we probably wouldn't invite you back if you literally sit around all day!).
If you want to make more than minimum wage, you have to pick berries! The more you pick, the more money you make.
On a good day, our best pickers were able to make over $20/hr last year.
We'll pick when the berries are ripe for picking and stop when the berries are all picked.
There is nothing we can do to control the weather.
We can't predict an exact start or stop date for the job, but it'll start sometime around the end of May or the beginning of June and go until sometime around the 4th of July.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
