Timberland - Associate Engineer, CAD

Job Description
Position Summary:
As a CAD Associate Engineer you will interface with Design, Development, and Engineering teams to create innovative products. You will manage the outsole and molded component development process. You will review product requirements with Design, Development and Engineering to assist and recommend optimal compound and construction method to achieve the required performance requirement. You will be responsible for maintaining all 2D and 3D files. You will operate 3D printing machines, plotters, scanners, digital cameras, and peripheral equipment. You will familiarize yourself with new equipment, processes and technologies based on Timberland business needs. You will gain exposure to broader product development roles and responsibilities to enable effective partnership with product development.
Key Responsibilities:
Cad Project Management ? Maintains and manages the daily activities for all assigned projects. Thoroughly communicates necessary details to teams in Stratham and Asia in order to reach calendar milestone objectives. 55% of time involved and relative importance is 5-Very High
Product Development ? Gain exposure to product development and engineering process and calendar to provide the necessary skills to assume product development projects and/or support as requested. 10% of time involved and relative importance of 5-Very High
Product Integrity ? Works as a member of the Product Development team to maintain product integrity with respect to the following points:
Mold development ? Manage the outsole and molded component development process at all stages by using 2D/3D CAD and Rapid Prototyping to illustrate and prove footwear construction methods and component design. Review product requirements with design, development, and engineering. Work with the development teams to determine the ideal compound and construction method to achieve the required specifications based on product performance requirements.
Technical Package Development ? Maintain and update PLM seasonal technical information related to outsole numbers, and outsole mini-BOMs.
Equipment - Operate 3D printing machines, plotters, scanners, digital cameras, and peripheral equipment as required
Communication and Documentation ? Maintain and provide a clear form of documentation and communication with product development team members in order to assist the transfer of the design solutions from concept through final product with country office developers and manufacturing representatives.
Travel to manufacturing locations and development centers to participate in development and engineering functions. 35% of time involved and relative importance of 5-Very High
Job Requirements:
1-3 years of mechanical design experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred
2D CAD, Adobe Photoshop Illustrator, 3D/Solid Modeling and Rapid Prototyping
Travel 1-2 times a year, both Domestic and International
