Timberland - Intern, CAD Design

Job Description
Position Summary:
As part of Timberland's CAD Technical Development team, the intern will have the opportunity to work with experienced CAD Engineers to learn the process involved with making innovative products and complete daily activities for all assigned projects and thoroughly communicate necessary details to reach calendar milestone objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Engineering, CAD and Development teams to maintain product integrity with respect to the following points; Outsole Mold development ? Assist Senior CAD Design Engineer during the outsole and molded component development process to prepare drawings and learn to apply dimensional tolerance; Assist Development and Engineering teams to ensure product meets standards for performance, appearance, design, functionality and quality; Organize and archive 2D/3D CAD model files and update PLM seasonal technical information related to outsole numbers, last numbers, and outsole mini-BOMs. 45% of time involved and relative importance 5-Very High
Shoe Last development ? Learn about the development of lasts based on desired aesthetic, performance, comfort, and fit. 15% of time involved and relative importance 5-Very High
Become familiar with and utilize computer aided design software tools used for 3D modeling. 15% of time involved and relative importance 5-Very High
Under direction of Senior CAD Engineer, learn to operate and support 3D printing machines, plotters, scanners, digital cameras, and peripheral equipment. 15% of time involved and relative importance 5-Very High
Maintain and provide a clear form of documentation and communication with CAD Technical Development team. 10% of time involved and relative importance 5-Very High
Job Requirements:
0-1 years in footwear or related field.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or enrollment (complete through third year) in a Bachelor's degree program, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel and Lotus Notes is needed.
Working knowledge of 2D CAD and 3D/Solid Modeling required.
Must be able to work in an extremely creative, fast paced and team environment, and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both oral and written (in English).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
